Valentine's Day Cupcakes: DIY Frosting Dyes with BMO

On February 11th, we teamed up with BMO and Stackt Market in Toronto to host a Valentine’s Day Cupcakes workshop!

Learners got to discover, decorate and eat delicious cupcakes. The cupcakes provided were Simple Vanilla Cupcakes and Chickpea Chocolate Cupcakes (recipes developed by founder, Amanda Huang). The focus on the workshop was on natural frosting dyes, and learners got to create their own dyes for their cupcakes.

Examples of the natural dyes that were used were powders (turmeric, matcha powder, espresso powder), jams (raspberry jam), juices (mango-orange juice), and frozen fruit (blueberries).
