Nutty Tahini Brownies

Makes 9 brownie squares

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup cocoa powder

1 cup maple syrup

2 eggs

100 g dark chocolate bark

1 tsp vanilla

1 1/3 cup flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4-1/2 cup tahini

1/4-1/2 cup chopped pistachios and walnuts

1/4 cup chocolate chips

1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Oil a 9” square cake pan with parchment paper. Set aside.

2. Melt the butter and chocolate bark in a microwave, or on a bowl over a pot of hot boiling water. Set aside.

3. Using a stand mixer or a hand mixer, whisk the eggs until they become frothy. Add in the vanilla and maple syrup and whisk until combined.

4. Temper the batter: Add about 1/3 cup of the egg mixture in the chocolate mixture and whisk. Pour the chocolate mixture into the bowl with the egg mixture and mix.

5. Add in the dry ingredients and mix until incorporated.

6. Pour the batter into the 9” cake pan, and spread the batter. Add a few dollops of tahini and nuts, and spread it slightly using a fork. Add more nuts and chocolate chips.

7. Bake for about 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Enjoy!
