Snack Sessions For Kids: Fruity S’mores
From our recent Snack Sessions!
Makes 4-6 S’mores
Ingredients
1 cup of assorted fruit of your choice (nectarines, peaches, berries, etc), diced or cut into small pieces
1/2 tb cornstarch
1/2 tb water
1/2 tb white granulated sugar
2 tsps lemon juice
8-12 graham crackers
4-6 marshmallows
1-2 chocolate bars
1. Mix the fruit, cornstarch, water, sugar and lemon juice into a bowl. Pour the fruit mixture into a small pot and cook for about 1-2 minutes on medium-low heat. This should look like pie filling - adjust the texture by adding more water to thin out the filling, or more cornstarch to thicken the filling. After the fruit filling is done, set aside and let it cool.
2. Toast the marshmallows in a toaster oven (“toast” setting") for about 30-50 seconds, or until brown on top.
3. Break up the chocolate bar and add a piece on top of the graham cracker. “Toast” or “Bake” the cracker with chocolate for about 30-50 seconds, or until the chocolate has softened. You can check with a toothpick.
4. Assemble the s’mores. Enjoy!
