Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookies
Makes about 10 cookies
Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, plus more to put on top
1/2 cup chopped walnuts, plus more to put on top
1. Line 1-2 baking trays with parchment paper. Set aside.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugars until smooth. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until combined, while scraping down the sides of the bowl.
3. Add the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix until a batter forms.
4. Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts with a spatula. Using an ice cream scoop or spoon, scoop out about 10 cookie dough balls and lay them on the baking trays. Top each ball with more chocolate chips and walnuts, while pressing down slightly on each cookie. Freeze the cookies for 15 minutes. While the cookies freeze, preheat the oven to 350F.
5. Bake the cookies for 20-30 minutes, or until browned.
